Wild Beauty hides in crashing waves,
smiling faces,
poetic phrases …
everywhere … if you’re there to see and feel it.
One day I woke up with the strange urge to ghostwrite its memoir.
After several years of practicing gratitude and writing two gratitude journals, the mystery of what’s next whispered “wild beauty.” So, as much as possible, that’s where I plan to be … there to see it and bring back treasures to share. In marketing parlance, this could be called a “rebranding” exercise.
Perhaps, it’s the snake in me
However, it feels more shedding a skin. A snake’s skin does not grow, so periodically it sloughs off the old skin so it can continue growing. Snakes do this frequently, whenever necessary; it also removes parasites that may have been picked up along the way. I love the idea that this transformation into Wild Beauty is simply giving myself room to expand and, also, to get rid of unwanted baggage.
At the beginning of 2024, I began sharing quotes everyday in Notes. In February, I started turning them into flipbooks. Every month now, the new flipbook is sent to paid subscribers and the thoughts for the days are posted to Notes. Past flipbooks are made available to all subscribers a month later … here are the ones available to date:

June: 30 Days of Klee
May: Wild Beauty, based on the book Beauty and the Beast, California Wildflowers and Climate Change

A reminder about the business aspect of this adventure:
Subscribing brings you free twice-weekly posts delivered to your email inbox. If you find that my posts regularly bring you stories and ideas that inspire or enlighten you and want to chip in the annual paid subscription amount to support my work … thank you buckets! (Plus you will receive my monthly flipbooks (small digital magazines) as a special thank you.)
Or … you could also “buy me a coffee” when a post delights you.
However, whether you subscribe or buy me a coffee or not, I’d love to hear from you and I answer every comment and question … (one of the benefits of not being an overburdened STAR. ;-)
Transformation! Bring it on! Love that you've done your gratitude journals for so long, Joyce.
Funny you should mention this today, Joyce. When I saw the article by Sahil Bloom, 9 Hidden Signs of Personal Growth, I thought of you and everyone like me who has experienced these "same me in a new skin" moments. The one that smacked me between the eyes was number 9: "You start cringing at yourself from six months ago." The cringe you feel when you look at your old output, mindset, behaviors and actions is an indicator. It means you've learned, changed, and grown.
