Amazingly enough, studies show that practicing gratitude enhances all of these aspects of life and brings significant and noticeable improvements to your life. Why?
In our noisy and overly busy world, it is more important than ever to tend to our inner world. Even just a few minutes a day focusing on the gifts (and the challenges as it turns out) of our lives stimulates brain chemistry that positively affects our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.
Harvard Health Publishing states: “In positive psychology research, gratitude is strongly and consistently associated with greater happiness. Gratitude helps people feel more positive emotions, relish good experiences, improve their health, deal with adversity, and build strong relationships.”
Finding new things to be grateful for every day is not only a powerful psychological practice but also measurably stimulates important neurotransmitters throughout the body.
