Practicing gratitude is stepping into a new way of thinking and being as you actively look for things to be grateful for.
Perhaps you haven’t noticed how phenomenal ice cubes are? Or what you would do without celery, or shoe strings, or push pins. But, suddenly somebody starts talking about how much they love refrigerator magnets and you realize your own refrigerator is a collage of your life … because of magnets. And gratitude surges through your body.
One reason having a gratitude buddy is such a great idea is that it helps you keep your gratitude practice fresh. In order to get the full effect of gratitude, you need to scan your life looking for new things to be grateful for. If you just repeatedly say, “I’m grateful for my friends and family,” it will become a meaningless routine. Gratitude Mojo gives you enough space to write why you’re grateful and encourages you to push into new areas of gratitude.
Sharing ideas with a buddy makes the practice more fun and sparks new ideas. Also, since practicing gratitude is a habit, having a buddy also helps you maintain your commitment.
One of the reasons the Gratitude Mojo process is being built around a newsletter as well as a journal is that it is a way to create a community for sharing the gratitude journey.
Here’s basically how it will work:
Because we want to help everyone develop their own gratitude practice, the newsletter posts will go to all subscribers.
Because we want to build community around the deep practice of gratitude, only PAID subscribers will receive the following:
TWO pdf copies of Gratitude Mojo, the journal. We hope you give one to a friend who will become a gratitude buddy. Do-it-your-way print instructions will be included.
Community comments. The primary weekly post where we will go deeper into the practice of gratitude will only be open to paid subscribers.
One-year subscription will be $50.
This brief, light-hearted look at the process will give you a better idea of what’s coming
