"We are volcanoes.
When we women offer our experience as our truth, all the maps change. There are new mountains. That's what I want--to hear you erupting. You Mount St. Helenses who don't know the power in you--I want to hear you. ... If we don't tell our truth, who will?" -- Ursula K. Le Guin
I'm delighted to be celebrating International Women's Day in a local event moderated by my favorite non-profit, Shelter Box, an early responder to places of disaster around the globe, delivering shelter and the necessities for life to displaced families.
Shelter Box was the 2022 winner of the prestigious UNA Santa Barbara Peace Prize and it was a delight to be part of the process of honoring them. Shelter Box USA's president is Kerri Murray, a dynamic woman of vision who will be moderating a panel of local women leaders.
In honor of women around the globe, I am sharing some of the women who have emerged through my art over the past several years. Each of them have touched me with their wisdom and strength and may also have a message for you. Feel free to engage them in conversation.

In good times and challenging ones, practicing gratitude helps us recognize the good things in our lives and build resilience for the challenges that come our way. Gratitude journaling is one of the best ways to better understand yourself and deepen your practice of gratitude.
Any journal will do … however, we have a bias toward Gratitude Mojo, which comes to you free with your annual paid subscription … including one copy for a friend because having a Gratitude Buddy makes the journey better.
We want to help everyone develop a deeper practice of gratitude, therefore, all posts are always free. … And, we always appreciate paid subscriptions as they help support this work.
Thank you for reading gratitude mojo and I would love to hear from you. It is a public newsletter so please feel free to share it with others.
