Joy After the Fire
where grief, despair and loss become the seeds of new growth and joy
Finding home and revisiting old traumas brought an end to this part of the tale and set me free to explore life with less baggage. I highly recommend writing your own memoir ... even if you just let it sit unpublished for the next twelve years.
Please feel free to share with anyone else who might need this candle of joy after their own fire.

I wrote this memoir for myself … I’m serializing it for you.

I hope this journey into grief and joy has been helpful and wish we could chat over tea or coffee. I would love to hear about your own experience with dealing with life’s losses and what has helped find new joy. I never had the nerve to try to publish this memoir so feel free to share it with anyone who might need/want it.
And, in case you’re wondering, here’s my take on the money aspect of Substack …
I'm glad you published the memoir you didn't want to write. This beats any Netflix series. What great stories and lessons. And the powerful theme running through it is the classic desire to go home. Have a home. Find a home. And the ultimate desire at the end of life, which people express in their last words, just to "go home."
What great Pause & Ponder questions. You are speaking to me when you write: "write your story even if you put it in a drawer for X years."🙋
PS I would have sent you coffee (I tried) if I could figure out the system.🥴
