1. Women:
Mark Hamill: End no fault divorce. Complete ban on abortion without exceptions. Ban contraceptives. Condemn single mothers while promoting only “traditional families.”

Heritage suggests eliminating diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programs across the federal government. The authors also want to take the following terms out of every rule and regulation: sexual orientation and gender identity (“SOGI”), DEI, gender, gender identity, gender equity, gender awareness, gender-sensitive, abortion, reproductive health and reproductive rights.”

“Project 2025, the extremist blueprint for the next Republican president, maps out the permanent reversal of more than 50 years of gains for American women and LGBTQ+ people. The authors of Project 2025—80 percent of whom served in the first Trump administration—paint a picture of a nation where women are fundamentally second class citizens.
2. Taxes:
Mark Hamill: Additional tax breaks for corporations and the 1%. Higher taxes for the working class.
3. Workers:
Mark Hamill: Elimination of unions and worker protections. End civil rights and DEI protections in government.
4. Seniors:
Mark Hamill: Raise the retirement age. Cut Social Security. Cut Medicare.
5. Healthcare:
Mark Hamill: End the Affordable Care Act. Raise prescription drug prices.
6. Education:
Mark Hamill: Eliminate the Department of Education. Use public, taxpayer money for private religious schools. Teach Christian religious beliefs in public schools. End free and discounted school lunch programs. End African American and gender studies in all levels of education. Ban books and curriculum about slavery.

7. Climate:
Mark Hamill: End climate protections. Increase Arctic drilling. Deregulate big business and the oil industry.
8. Civil Rights:
Mark Hamill: Promote and expedite capital punishment. End marriage equality. Use the military to break up domestic protests. End birth right citizenship. End separation of church and state
9. Immigration:
Mark Hamill: Defund the FBI and Homeland Security. Mass deportation of immigrants and incarceration in “camps.” Ban Muslims from entering the country.
10. Effective Government:
Mark Hamill: Replace experienced civil servants with hand-picked loyalists. Eliminates federal agencies like the FDA (safe food and drugs). EPA (protect our air and water). NOAA (daily weather forecasts, severe storm warnings, and climate monitoring to fisheries management, coastal restoration and supporting marine commerce). Continue to pack the Supreme Court and lower courts with right wing judges.

This is a moving target document. When I first tried to read it, it was about 885 pages. Now it’s at 922 pages. So page number citations may not be current or verifiable.
Sounds like a plan for a dictatorship coup. One that will do away with elections so that the dictator stays in office for the rest of his life.
Yesterday outside our food coop, 3 ultra-Christian men were out there at one of the few tables outside, talking about how 'any two people should be allowed to have a baby," the implication being, no matter what or how that baby was conceived. It was all I could do not to scream bloody murder at them. Instead, I went in and asked someone for a hug. I wish I had stood planted and watched and listened and stared at them in silence until I made them so uncomfortable that they left, or at least heard more. But I know myself too well. Too emotional.
So dammit, what do we do? I normally try to see all sides with someone and have dialogue rather than a screaming match or hate fest. I don't know what to do anymore. This is way beyond 'just politics.' This is machinations of the most wealthy and powerful people, fomenting hatred and distrust on both 'sides' and people have stopped talking and listening to each other. I have not seen things so polarized in my lifetime, even with McCarthysim, which I remember as a child.
