The actual Project 2025 document has gotten harder to find. Previously, I’ve been able to go to the Project 2025 website and pull up the 922-page document to verify claims. This morning, I couldn’t find it at all. However, of course, the internet remembers all, so should you want to read it, click here.
After months of following this document, I’ve found it to be a bit of a moving target so page references often change, and sometimes I have been unable to use a quote because I couldn’t verify it. Not so with this quote that showed up in The Nation, beginning on page 4 of the Project 2025 Foreword, titled: A Promise to America by Kevin D. Roberts, PhD.: (spacing and emphasis added.)
“The next conservative President must make the institutions of American civil society hard targets for woke culture warriors.
This starts with deleting the terms sexual orientation and gender identity (“SOGI”), diversity, equity, and inclusion (“DEI”), gender, gender equality, gender equity, gender awareness, gender-sensitive, abortion, reproductive health, reproductive rights,
and any other term used to deprive Americans of their First Amendment rights out of every federal rule, agency regulation, contract, grant, regulation, and piece of legislation that exists.”
The scary part of this paragraph is that it calls for the removal of words. Not discussion; not policy recommendations; removal. As if we didn’t mention these things, … these things that challenge us … these realities of human life … they will just disappear.
According to Project 2025, those words and ideas have “no claim to First Amendment protection.” Does that lead to making them illegal to speak? Apparently so. By page 5, the document is deeming transgender ideology as “pornography” and that
“Pornography should be outlawed. The people who produce and distribute it should be imprisoned. Educators and public librarians who purvey it should be classed as registered sex offenders. And telecommunications and technology firms that facilitate its spread should be shuttered.”
Under that premise, could they shut down any media firm that even mentioned those words? Could they do away with librarians? Libraries?
Reading between the lines, one can assume the people behind this document are coming after gay marriage. However, because they don’t say those exact words, they can cry foul, deny it, and survive the fact checkers. Example:
If anyone you care for is anything other than white, straight, Christian, and, preferably male, we have to DO EVERYTHING WE CAN to make sure the next president is NOT Donald J. Trump.
Basically, Project 2025 wants to build a bigger closet and shut and lock the door. (That statement won’t survive fact-checking.)
Fortunately, we have an amazing team ready to steer our ship into calmer waters:
Phone Banking Zoom
One effective way to reach voters, especially in swing states, is through phone banking. Last week, we featured the experience of one phone banker, Elaine Pierce, who has now offered to host a zoom meeting to answer questions and tell you more about why she likes this particular volunteer process. Please join us.

Who will win the election?
Professor Allan Lichtman, based on “13 Keys to the White” has predicted Kamala Harris as the winner. He has been right in nine out of the last 10 elections. Eight of the keys are in favor of Harris, while three are in favor of Trump. But also says, ““At least that's my prediction for this race, but the outcome is up to you, so get out and vote.”
Las Vegas Odds
“Currently, you cannot bet on the next presidential election at regulated U.S. sportsbooks. Many states have now legalized sports betting, and some permit wagers on novelty and entertainment markets too. However, no state has passed a bill to allow political betting yet.
“Having said that, Harris is still ahead in almost all of these polls. The aggregators at FiveThirtyEight have Harris winning this race 55% of the time; over at The Economist, they have Harris at “about 1 in 2,” but with the Democrats claiming 272 electoral seats to 266 for the Republicans. And if polls aren’t your thing, Professor Allan Lichtman, the “Election Nostradamus” who correctly predicted Trump’s victory over Hillary Clinton, has Harris winning this time around.”
Excellent resources, Joyce. Thanks for your good work. I will share these resources with others and take action, too.
An interesting read for someone who knows bugga all about American elections and politics
