Bernie Sanders and especially his supporters are no hero’s or friends of mine.

No hero’s in my life. I could give many examples of people held up as heroes—spots athletes, politicians, historical and mythical figures—held up as heroes whose life and character became whitewashed. Example John Kennedy, a philander who, apparently, married Jacquline for prestige. I have seen some that seem to think Trump is a hero. One person’s hero generally is someone else’s villain.

I agree that we make heroes out of people who are actually just famous. While heroes don’t have to be perfect, they should inspire us to be more heroic. There many people in my life who have encouraged and guided me and helped me take the next step. JFK, with his many faults, encouraged us to work for our country and stood up to Khrushchev in Cuba. Maybe it’s asking too much for someone to be a “hero” … maybe the best anyone can be is periodically “heroic.” Interesting discussion.

That's the lovely thing about diversity ... we all get to have our own heroes.

I do not believe in hero’s. However, I acknowledge that much of humanity seems to need them as a psychic tool to survive in our real world.

Well, I guess we’d have to define heroes. I don’t mean creatures with superpowers. I mean humans with courage and character who risk their own well-being to help others. I assume you have of those more everyday heroes and probably have filled that role in your own life.
