What makes you feel grateful?
I always thought I felt gratitude. But since my husband had a stroke in 2020 and nearly died, I have an overwhelming feeling of deep gratification in the biggest and smallest ways--for my husband's life and for how he makes me laugh.
I realize all my new writing comes from gratitude, being able to laugh about life again, after a long period of traumatic sobbing, is like waking up with a new way of seeing the world. It's all about gratitude for me.
Gratitude IS my Mojo! My energy and enthusiasm travel up and down depending on the weather, my exercise level, my nutrition, and a few people who will remain nameless. But gratitude--stopping to take stock of my health, family, provisions, accomplishments, and opportunities will energize me every time. Thankfulness, in the broadest sense, gratitude, lifts me out of temporary distractions, frustrations, fears, and what the French call, ennui, a crummy funk. I repeat, gratitude IS my Mojo.
