I plan to use farsickness as a daily prompt in February. I love those words from other languages that don't have a true English equivalent.

I love the idea of farsickness. (Of course autocorrect is correcting it to carsickness.) Wanderlust, but with more destination. I used to be a martyr to it but now I hardly want to leave my nest in this beautiful Taos that surrounds me.... What language is fernweh?

I didn't know you were in Taos ... one of my favorite places! Went there for a Natalie Goldberg workshop and poetry showed up. ;-) I think fernweh is Dutch.

I agree. This is a BONGO for me: Kopfkino—when you picture scenarios in your mind; literally, the word translates into “head cinema.”

Thanks! It's just so magical to find words from other languages that so perfectly describe something we don't have words for.

Definitely! My father and I always exchanged words we liked so it warms a special place in my heart when others share the ones they find.
