I'm right there with you, Joyce. As a writer, I've already used Substack a few times to raise awareness, the most recent being my post "A Tale of Two Perspectives" (https://robinreardonwrites.substack.com/p/a-tale-of-two-perspectives). I'm trying to make sure ppl don't look at Project 2025 and think, "That's just a bunch of wanna-be ideas." I need ppl to understand that P2025 is just the big-picture strategy document. There's also a "180-Day Playbook," which outlines the specifics, the actions, the tactics. Ppl working on it don't even have copies of the whole thing; once it exists in writing we could ask for it through the Freedom of Information Act, but they don't want anyone else to know what's in it. You are correct: This is beyond serious.

This is hard to write. I am going to TRY to be mostly mute here for the next 9 weeks. I will read what I can about Project 25, and have already learned much - some of it, thanks to you, Joyce. On that issue, I stand with all who are concerned about it and never want to see it come to fruition, and will work to spread the word about it. It's appalling to me how few people even know about it here in this so-called liberal enclave.

As for the rest. I could never vote for someone as vicious and narcissistic as Donald Trump. I also don't care for the policies Kamala Harris has supported as VP and before as PA, so will wait and see about her.

I'm tired of the cult of personality that our elections have become - almost like celebrity elections only more like Federation Wrestling, 24-7, fanned by the MSM. I'm staying out of the brouhaha on both sides. I will watch the debate(s) if there are any, and decide what to do as things draw closer.

I wish we had a third viable choice, but the UniParty only appears to be two separate parties - both are ruled by the same corporate CEOs and billionaires who make sure that we'll never have a viable 3rd party or independent candidate. So, I watch and wait. I may come around to where you all are in support of Kamala Harris. Even if not, in a 'blue' county I have the option to vote for someone else or write someone in. If it looks like I HAVE to do my duty and vote for Harris, I'll decide on that after I watch and hear her more, learn more about her complete record. What I have learned so far is not encouraging. It would help if I thought that she would stand up to Israel and against involving the USA in any more war or warmongering. That alone would convince me to vote for her.

I hope that there are a lot of investigative and legal truthtelling eyes and ears in the swing states - these few states decide almost all of our elections and they are heavily gerrymandered.

I'm not unsubbing; I love this substack and your work and passion in many areas, Joyce. Thank you for all of it. I understand and support your choice to do this. If I mute notifications for awhile, I'll be back!

Our energies are needed in local/district/state level elections where the people may still have some voice and power to make better changes. State elections will be super important, especially policies that come in Initiative form. I am not a democrat, I'm independent and always have been. I will say Some of the worst republican initiatives have bankrupted our state transportation system. Our infrastructure is crumbling and our ferry system (on which I and many islanders depend for work and health appointments for ourselves and our animal friends) is almost non functional and it has hurt our local economy and for many of us, our ability to stay here. I hope the same doesn't happen to your state(s). Watch out for those initiatives! Pay close attention to any policy changes put forth and read the fine print, and dig deep into who's for and against.

I will watch closely, listen, read, and learn - from the sidelines, not in the middle of the fray. I'll educate individuals where possible, not try to sway big masses of people. I can't live on a steady diet of elections - state, local, and federal. REmember to take time out for life - creative pursuits, nature, loved ones.

For those who actually have money, divestment works well if many people do it. Boycotts can work - as can independent press coverage of what mainstream media won't cover. Know what your bank is up to and who it supports; who its shareholders are. That kind of stuff is fruitful - Hit them in their profit margins and get the word out about any scurrilous practices. Open or join credit unions. Get away from Central banking if possible. Don't forget humor! Memes are also a good way to get pith messages across to those with short attention spans.

Good luck to us all; we need it. I'll be meditating and praying in my own way for a humane and compassionate outcome for All Living Beings, not just human, - and a more collaborative way of life going forward. I think that we MUST learn to listen to each other and talk with each other and calm the emotions enough to reach for what concerns us all as human beings - care of our loved ones, care of our lands and waters, truth over lies, and above all, compassion.

If everyone were as thorough and thoughtful as you are, we wouldn’t be in this mess. Working at the local level is a great idea and desperately needed so I’m so glad you’re in that territory. I always enjoy hearing from you but will understand if you don’t respond to what is going to be a pretty biased stand for the next several weeks. hugs.

Smart move, Joyce. All you have to do is remember the day after the election when Hillary did a concession speech and look at the 2025 Playbook Trump and his many loyal followers have put into plain view for all of us to see. This is not over until President Harris takes the oath of office. The MAGA efforts to thwart every voter's right to vote are horrifying and too much like watching films covering every dictator and totalitarian state, including Stalin, Hitler, Kim Jon-un, Putin, Ortega, Maduro, and too many others.

So grateful you're doing this! I just created an image of a cat that says "Proud Childless CAT* Lady (*Christian Against Trump) available on small vinyl stickers (currently with free shipping in U.S.) and hats, postcards, etc at wendigordon.redbubble.com. And I'll gladly email the graphic for free to anyone who wants to print their own! One great organization is Faithful America. I volunteer with and have written about FA; it's a nonprofit nat'l org with awesome free resources and simple things people can do like sign and share online petitions, help pay for mobile billboards outside right-wing political/religious rallies, etc. And they have a proven track record of specific successes related to defeating Trump and others with similar agendas and get media coverage.

While that’s probably part of it … the different issues are also key. Abortion rights, worker rights, health care, gun safety and others are championed by the Democrats and not so much (or in different ways) by Republicans.
