Hate is a strong word and a strong emotion and thankfully not something I feel towards other people as my daughters say I am too kind if one can be too kind
The true cure for hatred is maintaining and sharing our positivity, inclusiveness, and kind and loving nature as often as possible because that is also contagious. We just have to be vigilant and patient.
I too know something of the Ajijic community, both as a physical presence (never lived there, but have been many times) and as a member of an online community that is made up (mostly) of residents. I was looking for information about a specialist veterinarian and discovered the discussion board, and was rather floored my the venomous attacks I found there, in general. I did get the info/help I needed by some kind souls, by the way. But too much of that board is a no-fly zone for me, thank you.
I think sometimes people feel small and powerless in a tumultuous world, and lash out at others in order to feel a sense that they matter in the big scheme of things, that their frustration is heard.
It's an interesting and painful irony that hating haters = hating. Nicely done.
Thanks, Medha.

Victor ... sorry you had that experience. On the whole, Ajijic was a lovely, artsy village, but its Facebook presence sometimes got twisted.
