Covid was a terrible shock as we didn't see it coming and so many went into denial saying it was made up and not true, idiots, I hope the average person has learnt to wash their hands.
COVID-19 was terrifying because it would spread and kill anyone, in a horrible death of suffocation. We learned that it did not matter what your beliefs, race, or political party were, COVID-19 killed until we got collectively smarter as a global community of problem solvers, focused on one goal--make sure EVERYONE gets the benefit of a vaccine so there can be an end to the killing.
Project 2025 is a human-created horror and that means we can move faster and smarter on making sure it does not get enacted or allowed to spread. What did COVID-19 teach us? How to get on the same page to take care of our neighbor, our environment, and stop the cause of the disease.
During the height of the pandemic, my wife and I decided to buy a new puppy. She seemed a very happy and playful puppy until we left her alone. Then she would moan and cry and defecate in her crate. This happened numerous times. When we took her to the vet to get some counsel regarding separation anxiety, she noted her birthdate and said, “Oh yes, she is a Covid puppy.” She went on to explain that because of the pandemic, we were always with her. It was therefore very stressful and unusual when we left her alone. We tried music, CBD, and little toys with heartbeats, still none of them worked. Now she has a sister so she isn’t alone when we leave. Still, she gets very excited and loving whenever we return. I consider her reaction one of the blessings of Covid.
It's been a while since anyone in my direct circle has talked about the pandemic. Man, it stirs up a LOT of mixed emotions for me. I lost my entire life in 2020 when my son died. Lost my job. Lost mind and heart to grief. But gained the second best thing that ever happened to me. The pandemic puppy I adopted saved my life 😊 Pretty sure I wouldn't have bothered trying to survive without her.
Looking back at that whirlwind of a year, I still sometimes can't believe it all happened the way it did.
Joyce, thanks for sharing this glimpse into your remembrance of it.
What a weird time to live through! I think little snapshots like this are going to prove very valuable.
Thanks, Andrew ... like the idea of "snapshots" but think I'm going to pivot on subject. Idea a-forming.
Thanks for sharing , Love this 🥰🥰🥰
After reading your post, I imagined you creating a new graphic diary similar to what you did during COVID.

We must have done a mind-meld! ;-)

Covid puppy … I didn’t know about that but it makes sense. Thanks for sharing.

Wow, Kristi ... that's a LOT. So many stories ... so much changed and changed us and yet we don't talk much about it anymore.
You're right, we don't. But it will surely be a once in a lifetime for everyone who lived through it.
