"Gratitude and Attention" captures the concept of savoring - so well. Children seem to be better at it than most middle age folk. Anyone with kids has probably noticed the slow licks of an ice cream cone on a beastly hot day. They're in no hurry, they're just takin' the whole experience in. For all too many of us, or at least me, busyness tends to crowd out simple pleasures until we're reminded to slow down by a young child or maybe even an adult who hasn't lost their connection with the best of yesteryear. Thank you Joyce.
I really like this post because I can relate to having the best of intentions and then missing the moments! This is a great reminder to do my best to stay present marveling at all the gifts surrounding me. So glad you were able to eventually witness the next bloom, and I love what you did with the photo! It's glorious. 💜
What you describe happens to me even when I'm trying to slow down and savor. Could it be an inability to let go of the momentum we've carried for years?
And to think, beauty emerges constantly whether or not we are alert enough to enjoy it. A great post everyone should see.
the beauty of a cactus flower fades so rapidly that it's good to pay attention. This was a good reminder.

It's certainly possible. Momentum is a subject I've been planning to write about. You've given me a new perspective to consider.
I'm glad I could widen the view.
How fun to see the cross-fertilization going on here.
Sue ... yes. Too often I've thought I would go back, for whatever reason, but never did. Thanks for your sweet words.
