Well, well, what a delightful conversation. All that was missing was the coffee.

Creative Cavorting is another term that comes to mind for your decade of adventure.

I am grateful that our paths have reconnected and our weekly ventures into art, beauty, and coffee have inspired many a project.

Pasa un buen dia, amiga. En ingles o espanol su amistad es preciosa.

"Creative Cavorting" what a glorious term! I'm stealing it! And thanks so much for giving me at least 20 seconds of feeling competent in español. Eres una gran inspiración y una amiga especial.

I give you lots of credit also for your gumption - to keep trying. I'm struggling to learn Spanish with very feeble efforts. At least you've given it many serious tries - good for you. Grateful for extraordinary opportunities - all the merrier

My respect for people who manage to actual learn additional languages has gone up enormously. Best wishes on your journey.

I agree with that respect. I'm a volunteer ESL tutor (which is why I was at the library (Odd Duck Has a Soul) and my student, a 45 year old Mexican woman, has been in the US for 15 years. She makes packaging materials in a local factory. Her education is about 6th grade and she learns concepts - for example north east south and west - EXTREMELY slowly - over a month now with me using ENGLISH and limited Spanish. BUT she really wants to earn her US citizenship and just keeps plugging away in spite of her frustration and tears at one point.

She indeed has my RESPECT.

And best wishes on your continued journey as well. You're quite the adventurer.

You "idyl" with far more output than most do when diligently pursuing a goal! Kudos to you on a life well-lived with adventures pursued.

Thanks, Becky, I think I'm just beginning to be grateful for the extraordinary freedom I've been given and realize that having most of my projects be mid-grade successes at best, has given me freedom to try the next thing. While extraordinary success (in anything!) has always seemed like a worthy goal, it would have brought its own costs with it. Life is better with you in it!

Thanks, Joyce. What an interesting perspective. It makes sense. My world is certainly better with you in it, too. 💕

I'm very grateful to be able to come back to this lovely place ... thanks to people fifty years ago who bought an unneeded dorm and turned it into a non-profit retirement community.
