Great post. A lot on the plate here. I need a knife, fork, spoon, extra napkins, extra bottle of water to wash it all down. Sarah Fay? Who knew? Thank you for the introduction. I'll look at her work after I clean my plate in the Gratitude Mojo
You just inspired me to update my welcome email. I thought it was pretty good before, but I added a couple of pics. Now, if folks should open it, they'll see my smiling face. :) Yea!
Victor ... great! I think this element of Substack will prove to be one of those that we change frequently. I just talked to someone who updates hers *weekly* ... that might be a bit often but I think as we change as writers and as we hear more from our readers, we will want to continue to tweak things like the Welcome Email. Adding a picture is a great idea.
Now I must say thanks. About 10 days ago, I setup the link between Substack and Stripe in case I wanted to go paid. I didn't activate paid (and am still mulling it over)
Well, unknown to me, when I did that, Substack reverted my original welcome mail to the uninspiring boilerplate version and pushed my customized one into the welcome email for paid (which again, is not activated)
I may have gone on without noticing this for quite a while longer, so many thanks Joyce for reminding me to take a look.
Thanks for sharing that Victor ... I bet a lot of people don't know that happens ... and might be one reason I saw so many boiler plate Welcome Emails on my recent study. I'm going to send this to notes.

This is another great post! I will definitely be updating my email.
