Thank you, Joyce. Looking for that peaceful place here, where planning never happened and development razed our urban forests; this on an island that people flock to as a major tourist attraction, yet for the locals 'in town,' there is nothing but retail shops, real estate offices, clogged roads and sidewalks, and no quiet places. No parks of this caliber were ever planned. Alice Keck Park is a wonder - thanks for the glimpse.

I know Alice Keck Park well. It’s been way too long since I’ve visited. Thanks for taking me back.

I lived in Santa Barbara for seven/eight-ish years (depending on how you count, I was there for a bit in a tent and then a van in a friend's yard before leaving and then returning for a longer spell). It was my longest period of non-nomading in my adult life. I have dear friends I love with my whole heart who call SB home, and I visit often!

I'll reach out next time I head that way.

Thank you for sharing these photos and your quiet place. Next time I'm in Santa Barbara I'd like to visit that garden, along with all the other beautiful place that city has to offer.
