that is an amazing flip book, Joyce - thanks for bringing her and the Opera House to us! Your substack brings so much beauty, truth, and wisdom into our lives.
This is a great post Joyce. Interestingly this doesn’t usually happen to me, my words come when I’m in a zoned out state meditating or at a random time. They shuffle off into the ether when I fail to pay proper attention and think I’ll remember them later.
Paul ... I've thought about recording some ... not sure my voice works in the middle of the night. Maybe you should run all the salvaged words together and see what you've got. ;-)
Just this morning on the way to the gym I recounted to my wife - I had a dream last night that survived a middle of the night pee-call, resumed and was there until right before 5 am when I got up! And in an instant, it was nowhere to be found. I fully understand Joyce. Thanks for making me feel better - I'm not alone.
Pamela ... I use Issuu ... one of the highest rated but not the cheapest. There is a free version but it comes with ads. The one I use is $40 a month ... ouch! If you google "best flipbook software" you'll find a bunch of others. It's a simple process ... make a pdf and upload to Issuu. I love putting words and images together, telling mini-stories ... would love to hear how it goes for you.
Thanks so much Joyce. Right now, $40 a month isn't in my budget, and I don't want ads, so that's not going to work. I'll have to look around for another platform.
AND, love the flip book of Marta Becket! I want to write my own little post about her and I'd love to include a link to it, is that possible?
Oh so absolutely ... https://issuu.com/joycewycoff/docs/amargosa_opera_house_pdf_7

Like Shane!! I love this post.... amazed you could recall enough to write it.
I was inspired to take notes ... ;-)

Thank you. How to catch those "twilight words" whenever they come is an intriguing challenge.
I have a bunch of mid night notes on my phone, with one or two words on them, and no idea what the original thought was about. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Oh well...

What a hardy dream! Hope it was fun.
I liked this
thanks a good choice also.
Ah yes those words. <3
I tend to lose ideas more than specific turns of phrase, although I'm pretty sure I've slept those away too!
ahhhh yes ... those ideas are slippery little beasts.
Fleeting. Gotta get 'em down on paper or digital ASAP.
Joyce, might I ask what you use to create your flipbooks? I have been looking into them and not sure who to use.

I completely understand. I make flipbooks for a friend and she pays half the annual fee, which helps a lot.
I'm more inclined to go with a PDF, so subscribers can download and save.
