How is it that with these stats by Michael Moore, we end election night with the election stats we ended up with? I tried to talk many people who said they weren't voting at all, to at the very least, vote down-ballot. Because so many chose not to vote at all or vote their complete ballot, it'd be interesting to see what percentages of total voters came out in each state - because when people don't vote at all, it means that very small percentages of people decided the fate of everyone else.
I'm so sorry, Joyce. It's hard to be where we are in history. I think most people don't really understand just how badly both 'sides' of this have been manipulated. I've been accused of it myself (being a commie, being a Trumpster, being manipulated - and I have been manipulated, just like everyone else.) I'm just trying to know what's true, or what's the motive, rather than going into a spiral of despair. I think one must always keep digging for the truth, yet know that our own spin will always color any truths we see.
You did something about it. Thanks for your selfless and heroic work. It might be a balm to your soul to realize that you didn't look away, and that you did all you could, but that we are in a technocratic phase of history and that is what is running the whole show - from adverts to education to media. I'm sure you know about Edward Bernays. Technocracy wins the day - again. I'm deeply sad for the great chasm of division and misperceptions about who or what to blame. Personal responsibility and Critical Thinking seem to be unpopular these days - on both orchestrated sides of the propaganda we're innundated with, 24-7.
This whole deep dive is exhausting to anyone trying to connect some dots that make sense - and that's the point - to keep us exhausted and running in circles in an anxious and ungrounded state of fear, while technocratic authoritarianism drops and cements its structures into place, in every aspect of our lives. I know this may sound crazy and 'conspiracist' but that's what's happening. The sooner we realize that, the sooner we can get on with any kind of meaningful resistance to it. I feel most sad and sorry for the youth of our time. I think it's a worse kind of suffering to be born into something and never know the previous alternatives or freedoms that we had, so any meaningful resistance or Critical Thought about How we got to Where we are will be so much harder for them. It's hard enough for us in our 70s and 80s.
I am glad you will soon fill your Creative and Soul Cup again with travel and other endeavors. Thanks for your heroic efforts to make this world a kinder, wiser place. I appreciate you more than words can convey. You have widened my world view and that is all we can hope to do for each other.
Yes, Decisions must be made about what, where, and how. Many hugs back. You are an artist, a peacemaker, a mender of nets. <3 Rest your beautiful self. If you changed even one mind, you did great. time to gird our loins for what comes next. But first, a breather to let the fallout settle a little.

It is indeed baffling.

Your words fell into a tender place and I so appreciate them. We all now face a decision point about what to do about this event. many hugs.
