Attitude is everything as we struggle through life challenges. When we stop for but a few seconds and recognize that this moment is not only OK but actually good, we're in a better position to put off the "What if's". It's getting mesmerized by the what ifs that can kill our spirits.
I love this post, and these beliefs. It's something I've been writing about the last few weeks and will continue to do so in coming posts. Thanks for sharing this! 💟
Wow, Susan, life demanded a lot of you very early. Thanks for sharing your son's bitter-sweet wisdom. And savor the gratitude you receive from your students ... what you gave them, they have passed on to others, creating an unseen ripple around the world.
Before I was twenty-eight, I had lost my father, my brother, my mother and my eldest son. Most of my adult life I have used therapists and one for many years. Once, during the death of my son, he told me, “You have everything you need inside yourself.” Those go.den words have sustained me over and over. Teaching high school, I understood the angst many were dealing with and gave the same advice many times. In the following years, several students have written to thank me for those very words.

Never really thought about the idea of a two-edged gift. Excellent words for thought,
